Governor Lombardo Releases 2027-2030 Strategic Plan with Key Policy Priorities
NEVADA, November 3 - CARSON CITY, Nev. – Today, Governor Joe Lombardo released his strategic plan for the next four years, focusing on nine policy priorities aimed at effectively delivering services to constituents, improving educational outcomes, building the state’s business-friendly economic environment, and increasing the quality of life for Nevadans and their families.
“The Nevada Way is about delivering results for the people we serve. That means running an efficient and accountable state government, providing dependable services, practicing fiscal responsibility, and creating opportunities for hardworking Nevadans,” said Governor Joe Lombardo. “This strategic plan sets a clear path forward, focused on practical solutions and measurable progress to build a stronger Nevada where our communities can thrive and the next generation has every opportunity to succeed.”
The 2027-2030 Strategic Plan establishes nine policy priorities that will guide the work of executive branch departments and agencies over the next four years. The priorities include:
- Education & Workforce: Improve student achievement, expand educational opportunities, and better align workforce training with the needs of Nevada businesses.
- Economic Growth & Business Development: Reduce unnecessary regulatory burdens, streamline state processes, attract new industries, and support small business growth.
- Health & Wellness: Expand access to healthcare, address workforce shortages, strengthen rural healthcare services, and improve health outcomes for Nevadans.
- Public Safety & Infrastructure: Strengthen public safety, invest in reliable transportation and broadband infrastructure, and improve statewide resilience and security.
- Government Support Services: Modernize state government, improve customer service, strengthen the state workforce, and increase efficiency through interagency collaboration.
- Rural & Natural Resources: Protect and responsibly manage Nevada’s natural resources, advance water conservation and energy development, and support rural communities.
- Housing Supply & Attainability: Increase housing supply, reduce development barriers and costs, and expand opportunities for homeownership.
- Fiscal Stewardship: Strengthen oversight of public funds, reduce fraud, waste, and abuse, and improve financial management and accountability.
- Data Center Policy: Establish responsible standards for data center development that protect ratepayers and natural resources while positioning Nevada to benefit from emerging technologies.
The strategic plan also establishes an expectation that state departments and agencies develop measurable indicators of progress for each priority. Future budget enhancements, proposed legislation, and regulatory changes will be expected to align with and directly support one or more of the Lombardo administration’s nine priorities.
Through this framework, the Lombardo administration will continue working with local governments, nonprofit organizations, and private industry to deliver dependable services, strengthen Nevada’s economic environment, and create opportunities for residents, businesses, and communities across the state.
